Latest News as of December 25, 2009
Posted on December 25th, 2009 No commentsOur Christmas party was a great time visiting with fellow members and some wives. We had a tremendous raffle and everyone who attended came home a winner.
Please remember that we meet at the field on New Years Day at 12 noon for a little brisk flying. This is always a good time!
Also a reminder that The Milwaukee R/C Association’s auction and swap meet is coming up on January 3, 2010 at the Waukesha Expo Center. This event is the largest annual auction and swap meet in the area for the whole year so come and join the fun and you can meet flyers from all over our area.

Upcoming Fly-ins
Posted on August 12th, 2009 No commentsSpecial Reminder of Upcoming Fly-Ins
Friday-Saturday-Sunday August 14-15-16, 2009
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Giant Scale Fly-in
Club field south of Fond du Lac on Hickory St./Rd.
From SE Wisconsin take USH 41 Freeway to Hickory St. exit
Follow signs to go South on said Hickory St. several miles to field
This event has become Wisconsin’s premier gathering of scale aero-modelers including the spectacular, very large model aircraft of Carl Bachuber of Mayville, WI.
His models alone warrant the trip, but there are many other exciting aircraft as well.
Saturday will probably have the largest turnout of aircraft.
Saturday-Sunday August 22-23, 2009
MARKS Club Float Fly, DNR Bong Recreaton Area, Kenosha County, Wis.
Take I-94, or USH 45, south out of Milwaukee area to STH 142.
Travel northwest on 142, (9 miles from I-94, 3 miles from STH 45.)
Bong is on the south side of 142.
If your car already has a DNR windshield sticker, you enter for free.
To buy a “day pass” that will cost about $7.00.
An annual pass is more expensive ($16.00)
Bong is very large (miles and miles). Ask the DNR Warden how to find the pond where the pontoon models are flying.
Saturday turnout is always larger than Sunday. This is your chance to see a variety of models takeoff and land on water.

Special Power Site News
Posted on August 6th, 2009 No commentsTwo things have come up that we were notified by Wisconsin Electric.
1. This week and maybe next week if you are at the field you will notice a lot of truck activity as they are dumping and working in the pit area. They have told us that is ok for us to fly but be aware of them and not to fly to far to the East, which would put your plane close to the workers. Just use common sense and keep your flight path in a little closer and watch for the trucks if you are flying while they are driving by.
2. The property manager wants it to be clear that if you are the last Astrowing member to leave the field, that you make sure you lock the gate EVEN if you think you are locking in WE employees. They will not be upset with you for locking them in, they all have a way to get out and this is what they want us to do. The last guy leaving the site MUST make sure he locks the gate!
