Omega Hills Slope Site
Access to the Waste Management Omega Hills Site is open!

To gain access to the Omega Hills Slope there are a few requirements.
- Pilots must be current AMA Members.
- Pilots Must be AstroWings Members.
- New Pilots must go with a current member who is familiar with the site and can point out the few rules we need to be aware of.
- Pilots must share in the site insurance for the slope site. Currently this is $60 a year. Mirko paid it and some us have reimbursed him some for this year.
- We are responsible for any damage!
- During non-business hours there must be at least two people visiting the site.
- You must notify the Waste Management personnel by email that you will be accessing the site.
- This site is for unpowered flight only! If you want to fly power, do it at the WE Energies site.
- We may, under no circumstances, enter the active portion of the landfill south of County Line Rd. In practice I can’t see how we ever would but if a plane ends up over there we have to contact the site personnel who will recover it. I’d have some consideration in your hand if you need their help!
- It is an official AMA field, no alcohol.
Greg Smith is AstroWings designated slope group liaison. If you have questions or concerns, contact him.
This is a great opportunity and we need to do all we can to be good citizens. Waste Management has had many requests for access to their site and we are the first to be given this opportunity. Note also that Waste Management is helping us in an effort to start showing use of the land and to build goodwill in the community and state. To the extent that we can help spread good PR, we should.
