April 2009 meeting summary

Hot Topics included:

• Tony from Hobbytown USA presented this months club deals:
  • Helimax Novus RTF package
  • Greatplanes Sopwith Pup Electrifly airframe
• Lars talked about the Boyscouts and our upcoming training event with them.  Troups 830, 835, 836, and 840 all expressed interest.  Lars will talk to them further about dates, but June 6th and June 20th are the preliminary dates.  
• Weaselfest was discussed with great enthusiasm.  There will be a great pilot raffle including 7 slope kits, please attend.  
• Scott Orten will be out in May and June conducting sound tests.  All airplanes flying at Astrowings WE Energies field need to comply with 93db @ 10 ft.  
• Aaron presented his new Spektrum Tx/Rx modules designed to convert a Futaba/Hitec FM system to Spektrum 2.4Ghz.  
• Ben presented a new Weasel glider that he built for his dad, Kevin.  
• Pizza was had.  
• Steve held an MCX race around the room, 4 people flew, it was a great time.  
• Meeting raffle included an airplane kit, and other fun items.
